The Needs of Rainbow Families

{{item}}

Background: Rainbow Families is a program created by past leadership of The Equality Crew. Originally, Rainbow Families was intended to be a support-group style meet-up for the parents of LGBTQ+ youth under 12. We offered some guidance and materials, but it was primarily a time for parents to meet up and discuss what they're navigating. The location of meetings changed month to month, but were always on the second Sunday of the month.

Where we are now: The Equality Crew is interested in learning more about the needs of Rainbow Families in order to facilitate programming that is in alignment with our community.

What is a Rainbow Family?: While past programming focused on the parents of LGBTQ+ youth under 12, we believe that Rainbow Families can be any family unit that is "non-traditional," specifically in regards to gender identity and sexual orientation.
